Unit 20030
Category: Layer dug in 2013
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Burial fill
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: burial; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: We recognized this unit as separate, because we followed plaster layer on platform which was sloping. Plaster surface was gone and the consistency of soil was different than the other one. Was more compact and in other part more loose than layer above. Because of this sloping we also recognized differences between colour. U 20030 includes more dark and gray layer than plaster above. We expect that this layer could have many inclusions, because of organic remains, and geological remians.
Defined human bones in this fill. A right upper limb in articulation occured in the southern part of the pit. The capitulum had formed (and was recovered), so developmentaly this could belong to the mandible nerby and perhaps with the cranium of the northern margin of the pit as defined thus far. These suggest an age of perhaps about 6-7 years. The remains of an adult foot and especially the great toe of the right side lay on top of (directly) the cranium of this child. This foot appears to belong to the remains of an adult located in southern part of the pit (represented by a right hip).
