Unit 20095
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: eroded make-up layer of platform
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: pise-like; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit was recognized based on consistency of soil and texture. It is a succeeding make-up layer belonging to platform F.7401.
The previous make-up layer (U.20084) that this make-up layer was sealing was very difficult to follow, mainly caused by two interruption factors: intense erosion and high fire damage.
This make-up layer is damaged in the same way. As a result we grouped the latest make-up layers with the earlier one and revealed at least the next distinguishable layer of make-up (U.21730).
This unit consisted the following layer lapping upon the platform F.3437 surface.
Consistency: loose/soft
Colour: dark brown
Texture: silty - clay
Bedding: compound layered
Inclusions: charcoal, burned clay fragments
Post-depositional Features: animal burrows
Basal Boundary: constructional, abrupt, faint contrast, smooth surface & form
