Dimensions: 0,68 x 0,44 x 0,035 (the unit is not entirely excavated) 

 

Discussion: Well preserved oven floor, perhaps not very used, with orange baked clay and underneath: 2 cm of make-up. The floor itself was 1-1,5 cm thick; ashy layers in the edges. It is the last floor in the life history of the oven F7108. 

 

Recognition: Colour, consistency, texture, location in oven. 

Definition: Clear within oven. 

Execution: Trowel, saw. 

Condition: Dry, hot. 

Consistency: Firm. 

Colour: Orange, brown. 

Texture: Silty clay. 

Bedding: Layered. 

Inclusions: Charcoal, chaff. 

Post-depositional Features: Animal burrow 

Basal Boundary: Sharp on to other oven floor.
