Unit description: Tiny unit consisting of four bits of scrap and an equid incisor. About evenly divided between sheep-size and large mammal. Well-preserved, but somewhat encrusted, some look a bit abraded. Resembles upper levels of pit more than 2047. No burning. [unit completed in 2000 study season]. Sample 1, 4mm flotation, analysed completely. No diagnostics: mostly unidentifiable crumbles, About 15% burnt, no discernable digestion, one possible microfauna or bird long bone, one fish vertebra. Pieces somewhat battered. Dry sieved material contained 2 large animal long bone splinters, old breaks, no burning/gnawing/digestion, weathering slight. One is coated with a hard black tarry deposit.
