Discussion: 2013: During the execution of the wall F.3626 it was possible to record 12 courses of the bricks in the highest point of the Northern wall of the Sp.488 (in its N-E corner). The described constructional material facilitate to distinguish particular components of the wall and record their dimensions. The heights of the bricks varied from 9-10 cm, their width oscillated between 30 and 32cm and length 85-90cm. Additionally, within the wall there were also half-size components evidenced, and their use was involved probably with an attempt to maintain subsequent order in the particular courses. Incorporation of reused bricks is noticeable especially in 4th and 5th courses counting from the top. However, the most obvious evidence of the mentioned activities was the presence of painted plaster (u.20903) placed in the NE corner of the space (see unit sheet 20903). The latter as well as joining broken pieces of construction material into the wall caused waving frame of the structure that supposed to be vertical. All pointed out data indicate that assumed purpose of the wall as underground foundation structure, aiming to stabilize upper building (B.108) seems to be more plausible. In two bricks located in central part of the wall two clay-balls were found.

2014 EXCAVATION SEASON
The execution of the northern wall of B.108 (F.3626) allowed to analyze the western part of the mentioned feature, due to its partial excavation, carried out in 2013. In the course of the research activities in 2014 there were 13 courses of bricks uncovered within the wall that preserved to 1.20m height. The mud-brick structure within its lower part composed of components that were varied in types and size. The latter most plausible indicate the exploitation of re-used bricks during construction phase.
Worth noticing is that the upper part of the wall that comprised of 3 courses of bricks (placed on the top of the feature) had been effected by high temperature. Consequently, on their surface there were traces of burning recorded. The presented evidence acknowledges the statement that B.108 was contemporaneous with B.77. Abandonment of the latter involved setting fire and influenced not only on the interior of the mentioned edifice, but also effected on neighbouring structures.
Undertaken research brought supplementary amount of the deposit (1236 liters), that has been added to the previous achieved in 2013. Furthermore, in order to record the difference between burned and unburned bricks, as well as for further analyses there were collected 2 architecture samples S3 and S4. The first one comprise of the fragment of brick that was evidently effected by the heat. And S4 came most plausibly from the part of the wall that was not exposed for the high temperature.

Finds Room Information:

All material from site passes through the finds room for washing and separating before it is passed onto the various lab teams. The finds room keeps a basic inventory of what is found. A finds material type list is given here. Further analytical detail maybe provided by the Lab Team data below.

X Finds Material: nothing recorded
