Data Category Information: Location: between walls

Discussion: Infill between the external walls of space 99 and building 113. The infill was removed at the same time as the younger parts of the walls were taken down. The infill does not have the same length as the western wall of space 99 since it abutts a feature consisting of brick (u. 21555) and mortar. It is at this point uncertain if it is debris or a part of a actuall wall since it has not been excavated yet. It is therefore unknown if either the fill or brick truncates the other.

The unit has not been excavated to the bottom since the features (walls) are only partially excavated. That is, only the youngest parts of the walls, have been taken down. Space 99 will not be excavated further during 2014. The depth of the unit is unknown.

The infill is heterougenous but seems to be deposited in a single event.

The unit could possibly be the same material as the fill of space 527 (U21140), as it looked very similar and the ashy lens found in this infill visible also in mortar of foundation wall of B13 (U21516) and was continuing in to the U21102. The N bottom part of it was slightly different and resembled the material found in E bottom part of U22117 the end of feature (“block composed of 6 black bricks”) found in space 88 after the removal of wall F1019 )
