Unit 2115
Category: skeleton dug in 1997
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: skeleton
Data Category Information: none
Dimensions: 78 cm W-E x 53 cm N-S
Discussion: Crouched / flexed burial of adult lying in left side facing N, head to centre of room. It is completely articulated and undisturbed, although the spine of skeleton (1995) immediately overlay the skull, distorting the spine, which suggests (2115) must have been uncovered in antiquity. The distal end of the left femur is very high, lying on an earth ridge, which suggests that if this is indeed part of a double burial along infill 2119., each skeleton had a separate lower scoop in the cut within which it was placed. Organic / sooty deposits in the ribcage was very heavy & may be from lungs. Yellow ochre and pieces of grey pigments in the waist area and the fill are of interest
Condition: hot, windy
