Discussion: Scoops F.7586 and F.7585 were first thought to be only one scoop. But the excavation shows that cut u.21331 of scoop F.7585 was actually truncating scoop F.7586.
Indeed, the cut was also visible in between the infills of the two scoops. A stronger surface was found. It was probably the result of the heat on the infill of the older scoop (F.7586).
Cut u.21331 was thus made in order to make a new scoop and in doing so truncated an already existing scoop. It was then filled up with some still hot ash which explains the stronger surface marking the cut in the infill of the older scoop.
The two scoops are probably two different events. This could explain why the older scoop was not expected when the cut u.21331 was made.
