Discussion: The infill of the cut unit no 21167 was a very firm, light brown, compound soil mostly made of loam with some organic inclusions. It was located in the northern part of s.99, in E-W direction. There were also some brick debris along the wall, on which the well preserved plaster was found.
A different colour, texture and consistency together with slightly different inclusions let us distinguish the infill from the one situated in the western part of the space. Also infill south of it (u.21139) had other features, what made it easy to separate (e.g. different inclusions and consistency).
Both infill and the cut, as a foundation trench, were necessary in a wall erecting process (F.7105).
