Discussion: Partially articulated skeleton of a young infant. Truncated heavily to South by burial 202 and to North by burial 47. Body itself lies in a small cut (2507), which is a small undercut niche on extreme east of platform. Bones of 2141 lie on top of the disarticulated gracile adult disarticulated long bones of 2506
Skull of 2141 is largely missing, and mandibles are badly smashed. Body lay with back on a curving N-S axis, with its head to the south and its pelvis and legs to the North. very tightly crouched. Most of the bones were lifted as a block to try and aid preservation of bones.

(added p2 17.9.97?)
Rather than pre-dating 1955, the skeleton probably post-dated its original deposition, but was then probably truncated by re-cut 2176. However, as I did not understand this at he time of excavation, any definite relationship this burial had to earlier or later burials cannot now be proven.
Its bones did sit on 2506 however, so they may post-date the insertion of burial 204, but pre-date the redeposition of 1955. this would imply a very quick episode between burial 204 and 47, which seems implausible.

2007-Sample taken for C14 (R ulna, R femur) BA (15/08/2011)

Body: appears to be lying in crouched position on its right hand side, spine curved along a N-S axis

Head: head though badly truncated and smashed, appears to have been tucked in, face pointing north/north-east

Right Arm: unknown

Left Arm: possibly lying across left ribs originally., facing East

Right Leg: unknown

Left Leg: unknown

Other comments: partially articulated infant skeleton Badly damaged and truncated, so post-pelvic bones may have been parially removed. skull very poorly preserved. The upper (right) side of the skeleton seems to have suffered most.
