Unit 21503
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Wall collapse/construction debris
Data Category Information: Location: between walls; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: This unit was recognized as a similar wall collapse/construction debris layer as U21880 directly underneath it physically. Stratigraphically a series of infills are in between (U 21511, 21518, 21519 & 21544). It was slightly more soily in its composition and had not as much inclusions of plaster than U21180. Crushed bricks are visible in its N part. In the south a handful of bricks were sticking out over U21551 (infill) (see sketch.). U 21544 had been deposited in and over it to make it level presumably. These bricks might be outdrops from the wall collapse which might have been organized within a cut (?) This we do not know since U 21503 is not further excavated this season.
