Unit 21514
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Mortar from N wall
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building; Material: mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: U21514 is mortar of wall F1022. Tthe wall was badly preserved and only partially excavated (within the section) only 4 lines of plaster were excavated. They were all thin about 5 cm thick and made from homogenous material (in contrast with U21580 the mortar of underlying foundation wall). The bottom layer of mortar and the mortar between the bricks of bottom-most course of bricks were really thin (0,5 – 1cm thick) making it hard to see it in the section of the wall (however it was clearly visibe while excavating).
