Unit 21544
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Redeposited infill
Data Category Information: Location: between walls; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: This unit covered in plan the SW part of space 40. It was heterogenous in its composition smilar to midden layers. When excavated (with trowel) it became apparent that it was deposited over and around collapsed bricks probably belonging to U 21502, second layer of wall collapse. Since it was similar to midden layers it might be so that it was taken from one such and then redeposited. Findwise it was not very rich, although a few clay balls (f.e. x.1) and animal bones were found.
Beneath it were collapsed bricks which most likely are part of U21503 but those bricks were directly on a room infill-like layer U21551 not excavated this season.
