Interpretive Categories: Bricks
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: re-used brick&mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Discussion: The U21579, bricks of foundation wall F7619 were visibly reused, which distinguished them from overlying Wall F1022. Most of them had plaster on either side of the brick. They were also put in irregular courses (9 of them) both horizontally (the empty spaces were filled with the mortar) and vertically as some bricks were not directly on top of the previous course and wall was forming numerous ledges and steps. There were at least two type of bricks present in the wall, yellow ones (most of them) and more sandy and orangish (2 or3 bricks of this type.) There were also half bricks present in the wall.

Colour: Light yellow, orangish yellow, white plaster
