Unit 21617
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: infill in scoop
Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: scoop; Deposition: heterogeneous
Description: infill of a scoop was easy to define within southern part of B.132 structure
Discussion: The infill (U.21617) of the scoop (F.7622) was easy to distinguish from the surroundings (U.22080) due to the color, texture and consistency. The unit appeared to be very small considering the volume of recorded deposit within the cut (U.21618). The infill comprised of divergent charred plant material of different degree of burning. The lack of any finds might be easy to explain regarding presumable interpretation, that engages the scoop with a symbological rite and consequently with a kind of special deposit conducted before erection of new structure (B.77). The whole infill was collected as botanical sample in order to proceed further specialist analysis.
