Unit 21847
Category: Cut dug in 2016
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: pit cut
Data Category Information: Description: pit
Discussion: 21847 is the cut of pit F8026, which is located in the southern side of sp. 170. The pit cuts phase E floors and was
covered by the make-up layers related to the construction of platform F558. (NB: since both features were removed with the same unit, 21827, it is important to indicate that the number in the matrix refers to phase E floors only).
The pit has an oval shape (0.35x0.30 m) and is almost 0.17 m deep. The bottom of the main cut corresponds to a white and compact plastered layer, that might be referred to a floor/occupation surface extended almost all over the building and intercepted in many of the burials/other cuts sections excavated in the last 2 years (the same layer is visible on the bottom of 21850).
Due to the presence of a little circular cut on the bottom of the main one, as well as to the little dimensions of the pit itself, it is possible that it originally was a cache, with no specific structural functions.
Shape: ovoid
Sides: vertical
Base Break: sharp
Base: slitly sloping towards east; with a little circular cut towards its western side
Orientation: east-west
