Unit 22020
Category: Layer dug in 2014
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: mortar
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: wall/blocking; Material: mortar; Deposition: homogeneous
Description: the mortar within the western wall of B.108.
Discussion: Mortar (U.22020) was associated with bricks U.22019 and they altogether constituted the western wall (F.3625) of B.108. It was possible to record 4 layers of the mortar within the mentioned wall, in its highest point. Described material used to join the bricks varied in their thickness and general dimensions. The latter varied between 2 cm and 6 cm within the courses. Additionally, in the northern part of the structure there were some irregularities recorded, that were involved probably with the effort of amalgamate/bond two walls (F.3625, F.3626) within the N-W corner of Sp.501.
