Discussion: Brick was very burnt on east side of wall. Bricks on west side were placed vertically on their narrow edge, possibly to reinforce the wall for the emplacement of the bucranium in niche f.2175. 

Consistency: friable 

Colour: light brown and orange 

Texture: silty sandy clay 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: small 2% grey clay aggregates; small 2% charcoal; small 2% natural stone 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows, burning, diturbance by roots 

Basal Boundary: constructional, very sharp, distinct, wavy
