Discussion: This unit represents space between an inner wall on the west side and the control profile on its east. The excavation started from the north wall where lumps of white plaster were visible on the surface of the previous unit. Following this white plaster sloping southwards, it was possible to remove the infill soil and uncover large portions of plaster and mudbricks that collapsed in this area. The soil that was covering this plaster was greyish with white inclusions (flecks) on the surface of the unit, becoming more brownish with the same kind of inclusions in the layer immediately above the collapsed plaster. In the area shown on the sketch above, lumps of burnt clay were shown. These kind of lumps are visible in the profile. It seems that the thickness of this layer of lumps was about 10 cm. It also seems that underneath this plaster was a burnt surface and it was a more solid one (as it might be on a platform/floor) from that overlying it. Some other blocks of plaster also have this kind of slight burning on the exposed surface in this area.

Having exposed some of the areas of the collapsed plaster, (that might represent remains of a floor/platform as well) in this unit, it was decided to take off a part of the control profile in this area (next to the northern wall of the building) that divides unit 2259 and 2204. In unit 2204, the same kind of plaster (collapsed or from platform?) was encountered. Southwards, in these two units, the aim was to establish the boundary of the collapsed plaster (or floor), that has a lot of fallen brick and packed deposits on top from the remains of roof further south.
