Unit 2299
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: Oven construction
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Material in the vicinity of the fire installation (Feature 168) was collected as probable remains of its construction (superstructure). However, no stronger evidence to support this was found after the material in the Southern half was excavated; except for a higher percentage of baked oven floor fragments. At the end, only the North half-circle of the Feature stands as certain fireinstallation floor, while material in the Southern half remains on unit 2229 and 2281 (which was underneath). It still remains uncertain as to whether the installation was directly on the floor of Building 3 or not.
