Unit 23010

Discussion: Remnant of a unit that was excavated during one of the previous campaigns. This unit represents a plastering event that probably covered the entire sunken area of space 500 in building 131 - this conclusion stems from the fact that this unit was removed from the west face of the F7954. Could not be linked with a specific layer - meaning unit number - from previous excavations.
This unit might also be a part of F7954 reinforcement/restriction.
There is one other possible interpretation - in that particular part of the SE corner of space 500 there is a negative impression that looks like an oven (truncations in wall F7705 and this semicircular layer) - an in that light this unit could be related to an oven that was removed by inhabitants of B131 - there are traces indicative of the possiblity that in this corner (between oven F7953 and platform F7954) once stood an oven that truncated platform F7954 on the east side and wall F7705 on the north side (there are visible truncations in the wall) but no other evidence of an oven remains. This supposed oven, at least what looks like a part of the cut for it, looks like it had been truncated by oven F7953. This interpretation on the other hand somehow does not make sense being that oven F7953 can be connected to the first occupation phase of the B131.
