Discussion: New units for cut and fill of this posthole F7954 were assigned in 2017 since it seems that this feature was not excavated till bottom in previous campaigns. New unit numbers were assigned under assumption that this fill was different in composition than previously emptied ones. Fill of this feature was very compact and full of rubble fragments, charcoal and ash, scraps of plaster nad mortar. It looks like this post was standing until the abandonment phase when it was removed prior to fire setting. This theory is (somewhat) supported by irregular shape of the cut with visible traces of pushing and pulling the post from its place in order to free it and in that process destroying the nicely defined circular cut that was lined with plaster. This is one of the possible explanations why the cut is larger and damaged mostly on east and west side.

Plastering event that covers the platform F7954 as well as the floor of sunken area - unit 23024 (that was determined is same as unit 32389) respects the shape of this posthole meaning that at the time of earliest plastering event of this entire area this post was standing - up untill the abandonment. This interpretation might be incorrect in case that there was a plastering phase sealing this posthole that was removed in some of the previous campaigns but even if it were so - this posthole was still filled with burnt rubble - so it stands to reason that this could have only happend if the posthole was emptied prior to conflagration.

It should be noted that there is a later cut truncating cut 23012 - that may or may not be related to this feature - units 32310 and 32311.

There seems to be a lot of complication about this feature but from this perspective it looks like a posthole cut by some other feature comrpised of units 32310 and 32311. Whereas units 32317 and 32318 look like parts of the same thing units 23012 and 23013 represent, only not fully excavated. After detailed analysis of the units that are subsumed under this feature number some new feature numbers should be assigned to avoid confusion and enable phasing of these features.
