Description: This layer consisted mostly of fragments of the oven superstructured found unoriented and upturned and also of pieces of marl and mudbrick. S3 was taken from dark brown orange mudbrick which beared traces of contact with direct fire. 

Discussion: This layer represents the collapse of the oven's dome, fragments of which were found upturned, along with pieces of mudbrick, and collapse of the oven's superstructure, along with possible other debris. 

Consistency: Compact 

Colour: Yellow, brown, dark brown, reddish brown 

Texture: Sandy and silty 

Bedding: Unoriented 

Inclusions: Dense aggregates of medium and large mortar; marl; plaster and oven superstructure 

Post-depositional Features: Compaction below debris 

Basal Boundary: Sharp and prominent, smooth and flat
