Discussion: This unit is recognized as a mixed deposit / room fill layer situated in the western part of Trench 3. The unit got uncovered in 2013 as U.20221. This layer seemed to be very heterogeneous and quite firm in its consistency. Unit 20221 was revealed in 2013 after removing a few wall structures sitting on the top of this deposit. That unit was sitting partially on the platform F.7173 surface which smooth but eroded surface was uncovered underneath. Based upon observations made in 2013 this layer was a fill of quite large ‘destruction cut’ recorded as U.30877. 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: dark brown 

Texture: silty-clay 

Bedding: compound 

Inclusions: charcoal bits, burn ed clay, bricks, 

Post-depositional Features: erosion, animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: constructional, sharp, faint contrast, smooth form and surface
