Description: Methodology same as 2568. 

 

Discussion: Third group of bricks surviving from top of wall F 1 and F 5 which goes with mortar 2578. 

 

Recognition: Part of wall. 

Definition: Edges of wall. 

Execution: Trowell and hand mattock. 

Condition: Normal 

Consistency: Firm 

Colour: Yellowish brown (10 YR 5/6) 

Texture: Slightly sandy silt 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: 2% small brick fragments, plant impressions. 

Post-depositional Features: None apparent. 

Basal Boundary: Same as 2568.

Unit description: No dry sieved material. Sample 2 4 mm flotation 100% sorted, fully recorded. Not much bone, all sheep-size scrap except for 1 microfauna vertebra. Not very weathered or rolled in general, but weathering somewhat variable. Some burning (low temperature), no digestion. Nothing bigger than 3 cm. Last number = 15
