Discussion: (2881) represents a sinlge course if brick in what remianed of the partially excavated and eroded wall [273], running from N to S to the W of Shrine 14. 

Recognition: The colour and texture were clearly different from that of the mortar in section (of [273]) 

Definition: clear 

Execution: Pick and trowel 

Condition: Very dry and crumbly, morning sun 

Consistency: Very firm/compacted 

Colour: Light yellowish brown 10YR 6/4 

Texture: Sandy silt loam 

Bedding: Massive - distinctively homogeneous 

Inclusions: Very few - <2% charcoal flecks; <2% plant silicates. 

Post-depositional Features: Severe weathering, animal burrows and salt encrustation 

Basal Boundary: The basal boundary was sharp and constructional with a prominent and msooth surface between layers of brick and mortar, marked by salt encrustation
