Unit 30294
Category: Cut dug in 2013
Area: TPC
Interpretive Categories: cut for construction of bin
Data Category Information: Description: moulding
Discussion: This unit was recognized during the excavation of u.30279, when we realized the mud-brick went deeper than the surface of f.7153 (the floor) on its eastern edge. We soon realized that in order to construct bin f.3993, the Romans behind building 120 dug irregularly into a deposit of Neolithic mud-brick material. The cut is quite jagged to the north, but flattens out to the south to meet with the rest of floor f. 7153. The cut is within the Roman terrace signified by sp. 509, which itself was created by a larger cut [30229].
Shape: rectangular
Sides: steep-- but jagged to W
Base Break: right angle (except to N)
Base: flat but sloping downward to S
Orientation: N-S
