Discussion: We excavated the remains of the fill of the excavation trench of Mellaart (1960's) or Hamilton [?] (1990's). The friable consistency and organic component of the unit compared to the underlying units made it easy to define. Clay fraction belonged to bricks; silt fraction belonged to loose backfill; humic component is remnant of the backfill. 

Consistency: Friable. 

Colour: Dark Brown. 

Texture: Silt and clay, humic component. 

Bedding: Massive. 

Inclusions: Moderate Charcoal 

Post-depositional Features: None noted. 

Basal Boundary: Abrupt.
