Discussion: Heavily eroded mortar of F8010 E wall of Sp 565, due to being exposed for a very long time it is very hard to distinguish this Unit from the bricks (U31606). The mortar seems to be ca. 6 cm thick. Only the part of unit was excavated due to Sp565 being excavated only partially. The rest of it is visible in the section.
The wall was partially excavated in the previous year, and at that time they thought that it had removed the entire wall. This year we confirmed that the wall actually continued further down at the level exposed last year (31614), at which point it had been excavated. So this season we exposed the rest of the wall F8010. Since we didn’t remove the plaster we cannot add more information from what was described before. Anyway when we dig the remains of the building 43 we exposed the complete wall F8010. During that process we could confirm the height of the wall and that it was built from inside the Sp 565, because of the irregularity of the wall by its outer face. Even than we cleaned the W side of the wall, the courses of bricks and mortar was not clearly defined, but the dimensions of the bricks seems to be 0.30 x 0.10 m. (30.05.2016-- CB).
