Unit 32450

Interpretive Categories: Foundation layer
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: hearth; Deposition: heterogeneous
Discussion: Very small layer partially exposed after remove the big oven F7816, the hearth F7817 and the dirty floor U32421, but clearly defined after remove the layer U32441(same as 32440). The layer itself was defined by the colour and texture, and also for the presence of quite a lot charcoal as an intrusion. This small ashy layer extends around 0.10 length and 0.08 width and there was a clay ball (X1) and quite big stone (X2) as a unique finds. This two elements were deposit partially below the foundation (U32449) of the hearth F7838, so we interpreted this layer as a foundational deposit.
We also want to note that this layers could be deposit in a little cut, because after remove it, a round and concave shape bottom was defined, but this “cut” was not clearly defined from the top, so we didn’t assigned a unit number.
