Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: non-white laid floor; Deposition: multiple
Dimensions: depth 0.5-0.6 mm; lentgh 55 cm; width 35 cm
Discussion: Layer 3 in section drawing 98-639.
Second layer of floors in platform F239.
Compared to unit (3873) this unit consisted of one fairly uniform floor/occupation layer. It contained charcoal and appeared to have cracked at some point as lines of dark mottling could be seen, especially in the SE corner area. The colour of this mottling was dark grey, so it is possible that the lower lens of (3873) dark grey/ 'greasy' trample layer made up the areas of mottling by seeping into cracks in this unit.
