Unit 3902
Category: layer dug in 1998
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: platform make up
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: feature; Description: raised area (platform); Material: pise-like; Deposition: homogeneous
Dimensions: 0.37 m N-S x 0.2 m E-W x 0.04 m deep
Discussion: Small patch of homogenous make up for platform F.288 underlying (3696) and possibly part of a similar process of 'squaring up' the platform. Removal of this and previous unit (3696) show that an earlier phase of feature curved at least in SW, though truncated at N show shape not apparent.
Recognition: Small block of apparent homogenous platform make up below (3696) heavily truncated by pit in N of space 117. Clear boundary with white plaster below.
Definition: Quite clear boundary with lower, redder layer.
Execution: Trowel and leaf trowel from E.
Condition: Dry.
Consistency: firm
Colour: 2.5 Y 5/3 light olive brown
Texture: silt loam
Bedding: massive
Inclusions: 5% charcoal flecks
Post-depositional Features: roots, salts, heavy truncation by pit
