Discussion: Make up layer within cut F.290 for fire installation F.290. Containing fairly frequent fragments of scorched oven lining. Not known where there are from but a ?? is earlier F.269.
Recognition: With difficulty as very similar to (3914) and (3919), I may have overexcavated (3919).
Definition: Top merging with fills above. Abutts cut of oven (3932) to SE. Elsewhere in centre of oven cut.
Execution: Trowel and with help of Shahina.
Condition: Tired and confused.
Consistency: fairly compact
Colour: a) 7.5 YR 5/6 strong brown; b) 10 YR 3/3 dark brown; c) 2.5 YR 7/3 pale yellow
Texture: a) burnt oven lining silty clay with frequent chaff fragments 20% 0.01 - 0.07 m; b) brown clayey silt 70% with frequent 20% chaff and charcoal flecks; c) plaster frags <10% <0.05 m, <1% salts
Bedding: massive
