Discussion: Silty clay fill of a small grave pit, lying above the skeleton of a small baby. 

 

Recognition: V. faint discolouration compared to surrounding deposits following discovery of skeleton ( 4328 ) 

Definition: Faint but in clearly defined area 

Execution: Trowel and leaf trwel from edge 

Condition: Slighly moist, well compacted 

Consistency: Firm 

Colour: Mottled grey and dark greyish brown 

Texture: Silty clay 

Bedding: Massive 

Inclusions: <5% charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: some root and insect activity 

Basal Boundary: clear, smooth, anthropic
