Unit 3999
Category: layer dug in 1999
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Mellaart backfill
Data Category Information: Description: 60's
Dimensions: 4.10m by 1.20m by 0.26m approx
Discussion: Originally thought to be neolithic backfill, but found to be compressed Mellaart backfill. Directly above it appears to be a layer of trample, another dark brown silt, located mostly towards the centre of the room.
3999 was excavated archaeologically as it was unclear about the date of the deposit. Directly below the trample (which contained root action) was an extremely compressed neolithic room fill (4173), also dark brown and silty. Dry Sieve Information: Not dry sieved but may have hand picked finds
