Dimensions: 2.44m N-S; 0.24m; 0.27m ( max. depth ) 

Discussion: (4471) was a multi-coloured and textured deposit - bedding/infill below (4468), (4469), (4467). It consisted mostly of a brownish mid gray, v. slightly clayey/sandy silt, and toward the N., grayish mid brown, with occ. light orangey brown inclusions. Also - toward the S., a substancial lens of v. pale brown clayey/sandy silt. Obsidian cluster (4470) lay within the deposit, and x-finds 1-3 were located nearby, and are probably associated. 

Recognition: multi-coloured & textured, infill below (4468), (4469), (4467) 

Definition: boundary against a wall, and defined by different colour of units above and below 

Execution: sectioned. small pick and trowel 

Condition: v. slightly moist 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: br. mid grey/gr.mid brown/v.pale brown/gr. l. to mid brown/off-white pl./m. 

Texture: sandy/clayey silts 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: bone,charcoal,stone,shell,obsidian,pot,clay balls. all <2% 

Post-depositional Features: trunc. at N. occ.small root activity. 

Basal Boundary: constructional, sharp, prominent,smooth
