Unit 6694
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: fire installation
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Removal of base of fire installation F. 642 revealed during 2000 field season. Installation was extremely friable and broke into chunks which easily separated from the lower sediment layers. Included in the removal was clay which was part of the construction around the sides which wer part of floor level. There was a triangular makeup area which apparently repaired part of the installation.
Unit 6626 was given in 2000 when the F. 642 was first spotted but it was not excavated. Therefore a new unit 6694 was given and the feature floor was excavated in it.
