Unit 8198
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: plaster under clayball F.
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: This unit is the white plaster that was under the clayball feature. I took the white plaster flot sample 2 and the packing material underneath was taken separately as sample 3. The (S2) white plaster on top was mottled with ashy and pink/purple patches. Under that was a very thin layer of blackish soil S3 that U tried to separate as best as I could. Then there was more white plaster- even thinner- (S4) and under that another very fine sooty/ashy layer that was on top of a typical brownish- red packing layer. This was my basal boundry. I will continue to excavate the surrounding floors as unit 8198 and try to get them to the same sooty layer.
