Unit 8214
Category: layer dug in 2001
Area: North
Interpretive Categories: floor and packing
Data Category Information: none
Discussion: Packing and floor 5 of fire installation F.764. This unit is what we come to under unit 8146 and the top was a layer of black "stuff" on top of packing layer (no white floor). It looked like layers of packing and black floors, but underneath this black layer were patches of similar packing divided by thin black layers. The surface was traceable but the basal one (even that to an extent). One thing is sure through, this unit goes along with the rim of the F.764 (fire installation) and at least one part of it was made at the same time and looks like same material only difference being whether it was burnt or not. For example, rim of the F.764 was sitting on one of these black layers. All in all utterly confusing.
