Discussion: This unit comprises the fill of a probable post hole next to U. 8631 (to N). It seems that to9 the N of F. 633 (the opening in the E wall) there was a wooden post in the E wall of building 3. At a certain moment the post was taken out (at the time when the "opening" was slosed). The hole was filled in with clay and mudbricks pieces. The post had quadrangular or rectangular shape with sharp edges. The bottom of the hole was layered with yellow-whitish clay, 2 cm thick. It was on top of the single row of mudbricks that lies between the post hole and the middeny layer.
As we took out the fill of the post hole, two "steps" appeared (see the photos).
As the relation between the E wall, the "openning" and the post hole is stin unclear, we will stop excavating at this level.
