Unit 8960
Category: layer dug in 2005
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: general; Material: mix (dark grey&white)
Discussion: It is a layer of floor siituated in the middle of an extension - in its W part. On excavating fragments of human skeleton were found. On the N boundary of the unit compact but destroyed mudbrick was found (unit 8963), while on the S boundary large orange mudbrick (unit 8961) was noticed which is probably a part of a wall (built of the same kind of mudbricks) wich appeared after removing unit 8960 in its basal boundary.
Most of the unit was excavated in season 2004, but just in the end of the season fragments of human skull were noticed. It was impossible to excavate it in one day, therefore it was covered and left to be excavated in season 2005.
It occured then that only bones of a skull some fragments, some fragments cervical vertebrae and two bones of feet were present. They were recoreded as unit 11561. However the bones of feet were not considered to below to the same individual as the skull and vertebrae.
