Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: TP
Interpretive Categories: stony layer
Data Category Information: In Situ: in situ; Location: building
Dimensions: 2.10 x 1.00 x 0,19
Discussion: It is a stony layer situated in the middle of an extension. It was distuingished in season 2003 and explored in 2004. The layer was oriented E - W and was built from from W to E - which was visible by the way the stones lied. Between bigger stones there were put some small stones to prove the construction.
The stony layer is situated over a burnt layer (which is visible in the section of the main trench) which helps in dating it as Roman. It was probably a corridor in a building and was functionally linked to unit 7030 - excavated in 2001 in the main trench, forming a kind of a passage. The entrance to the building is expected to be from the W.
In the base of the unit (under the stony layer) a line of orange bricks was noticed.
