Discussion: Area of floor surface and associated trample. Appears to be two floor and two trample layers however the pachy nature of the deposit makes this difficult to be sure of. Each layer is c. 2-3 mm thick 

 

Recognition: seen in section at sw corner 

Definition: darker than lower surface 

Execution: trowel 

Condition: hot 

Consistency: firm 

Colour: alternate light brown and black layers 

Texture: slightly sandy silt and silty plaster 

Bedding: layered 

Inclusions: mod. Chalk flecks occa. Charcoal flecks 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrows 

Basal Boundary: sharp smooth anthropic
