Discussion: This individual is dorsally extended from west to east in the typical late Byzantine burial style. The skeleton is interred in a wood-lined coffin, burial pit with its body fully extended and head upright and resting on the basocranium. The first and second cervical vertebrae are approximately 5 cm to the west of the cranium, indicating that either 1. The cranium originally rested above these two vertebrae and later fell after decomposing or 2. Animal disturbance. The bones of the face and hands are largely missing, again possibly due to animal disturbance. The bones of the lower right arm are disarticulated and positioned next to and underneath the humerus as if they were placed there. The proximal right fibula and one of the thoracic vertebrae were found in the pelvis area during excavation. Despite the disturbance this burial was well preserved. In situ sex estimation is female due to pelvic morphology. Age= adult due to dental eruption/ formation and epiphysical closure.

X2 was Envanter 6 in 2004.
