Discussion: Layer of midden deposit - arbitrary at top but attempting to follow angle of the layers of the deposit at the base. Nevertheless includes a number of layers and lenses. Hence a much thicker spit in S than in N of square.

Unit description: Medium size unit with D.S and flotation >4mm (170). The D.S contained a small amount of visible burning. The majority of the remains were sheep size fragments followed by cattle size fragments. Sheep size fragments include long bone, teeth, ribs, pelvis. Cattle size fragments were generally very fragmentary, though there were recordable fragments including phalanges. Horse was also present. Overall the surface condition was normal and there was only a little bit of gnawing and digested bone. Flotation-some sheep size material but mainly tiny scrap fragments. Fish bone, microfauna, groundstone and shell extracted. Scrap weight=160g.Figurine Records: Yes
