Description: Fast track
Discussion: Deposit below (10430) with hearth sequence. Much more compact than powdery layer above, and may have acted as some form of base/platform, although not a particularly burnt layer.
Upon excavation it was confirmed that this layer was most likely some form of platform or surface due to its thickness and compaction. This deposit is unlike any of those above but for (10425), 0.3m above. Almost mudbrick-like in both appearance and make up.
Recognition: Layer exposed after removal of (10430).
Definition: Defined by colour and texture.
Execution: Trowel, leaf and brush
Condition: Dry
Consistency: fairly compact, but friable
Colour: Light yellowish brown
Texture: Silt
Bedding: Massive
Inclusions: None
Post-depositional Features: Some animal disturbance
Basal Boundary: Clear, very sharp
