Unit 10474
Category: layer dug in 2004
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: plaster floor
Data Category Information: Location: building; Description: raised area (platform); Material: white clay; Deposition: single
Dimensions: 1.7m EW x 1.07m NS, 4-12mm thick
Discussion: Nortern half of (10474) is poorly preserved probably due to later disturbance and animal burrows. Southern half of (10474) is very well preserved and shows little sign of wear and tear, this contrasts greatly with the plaster surface (10486) to the south at the lower level (stepped down). Could be that (10486) shows more signs of erosion under foot, wear and tear.
Possibly little sign of activity/ movement on (10474)
(10474) overlies (10486)
Recognition: Easily identifiable brownish white plaster surface sitting upon light brownish grey floor
Definition: clearly sharply defined contrast between overlying and underlying layers
Execution: trowel and brush
