Discussion: Brşcks were slightly variable in size and thickness, newer ones were harder; older bricks which I aimed to expose are very crumbly, much softer and totally different when you trowel themç An apparently newer brick was beind the pillaster and I partially removed it before realising something was wrong - then pillaster belongs to the wall, and would need to be taken out too. A niche is possibly now exposed against the south wall and heading east, possibly a floor layer has been exposed to go with it.

İt now appears that there are more complications with the walls, they appear to be lower than previously thought -

Execution: hand axe and trowel 

Condition: dry 

Consistency: soft in areas exposed by earlier excavations, harder below 

Colour: red-brown 

Texture: silt 

Bedding: massive 

Inclusions: bone, obsidian, occasional pot 

Post-depositional Features: animal burrowing 

Basal Boundary: clear, distinct, sharp, smooth
