Unit 11373
Category: Cut dug in 2005
Area: South
Interpretive Categories: Post Hole
Data Category Information: Description: posthole
Dimensions: 0.16 x 0.18 x 0.08m
Discussion: Shallow concave cut of posthole. Two fills. Both loose and come away easily from sides. No post pipes visible. Post possibly removed rather than decayed.
Post hole lies beneath foundation cut [11345] and may be related. However, posthole not noted until midden deposit removed.
Have looked at levels and midden removed from either side of [11345] but base of cut and top of posthole similar enough to suggest they are related. Don't know which cuts which, but likely posthole came before trench.
Suggest some structure element to foundation or possibly a marking out phase prior to construction.
Recognition: Circle seen cut into midden deposits clear edge and distinct fills.
