Data Category Information: Location: cut; Description: posthole

Discussion: although had always felt that layers had been respecting the orang ebrown asndy material but when got down to 11466 felt that may have got it wrong as material standing quite proud thought that might be fills in a cut after all. However on excvating and chasing down found that the mixed orange brown and grey material was continuing below 11466 and was not conined within a cut. Despite my best efforts to make them the fills in a cut Ive reverted back to my original impression when I first saw 11468. That layers were respecting this material. My explanation for this at the moment is that if 11468 does turn out to be construction or make up materail for the platform then the post was removed by 11239 was inserted at this stage with the same packing material around it (ie the grey plaster and stones of 11468) and the mudbrick construction and subsequent layers rspected the post or whatever this elemnet was. Actually doubtful that this was apost since you would have to insert a post into a decent post hole. 4/8/04 a claering up for final photos plan confirmed that 11468 had been sealed by 11466 however 11468 does appera to be sitting within a cut.
